Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire This new build property has a very irregular shaped garden which wraps around the house. The fence line comes very close to the building at one corner making it an awkward site to plan. The clients wanted a garden with a contemporary feel and a good size play area for their daughter. The circular theme at the back of the house was chosen as circles of differing sizes could be fitted into the triangular shape in such a way as to eliminate any awkward corners. The material used for the decking is "Ipe" which is a very dense hardwood. All of the fixings have been made from below the deck to preserve a smooth, unblemished surface. The paving is a smooth sawn sand stone. The play area is surfaced with "Lazy Grass" an artificial grass with a realistic appearance. The multicouloured fence was made in my workshop using paint colour's which were custom mixed for the purpose. Click on the images to the left to see larger versions
