Easy Access, Low Maintenance

March, Cambridgeshire.

This garden was created for an elderly client with some minor mobility problems. The whole garden has been designed for ease of access and minimal maintenance.

To reduce the need for bending most of the planting is in raised beds which are at a height where the client can sit on the walls to carry out routine tasks.

Believe it or not, the grass you see here is entirely artificial removing the need for any mowing. This feature also has the additional benefit of not leaving unsightly patches when the clients dog uses it as a latrine.

The planting structure is simple and easy to maintain, small areas are left for the client to add seasonal colour with bedding plants. These are within easy reach.

A small pond was added to the design as a focal point and source of relaxation.
