AWKWARD SMALL GARDEN DESIGN

The awkward, tapering layout of this small garden made it look even smaller. The challenge here was to shoehorn in all the essential elements of a family garden without overcrowding.

In this case the garage wall was the obvious area for seating as it had the best of the sun throughout the day. Hardwood decking has been used here to create a level area for relaxing and entertaining. In the odd space behind the garage an area for the BBQ has been set aside and the rest has been used to create an area of deep planting.

I used a diminishing circle layout for the lawns and water feature and small sized brick pavors for the semi-circle path to create the illusion of more space.
