BAMBOO PERGOLA

HERTFORDSHIRE

This garden was built back in the early 1990's on a small budget. The main design brief was to make it very child friendly.

The pergola is made from treated softwood with bamboo poles and rods for detail. Split bamboo screens cover the fence and one side of the pergola providing some shade.

The water feature is made from bamboo construction poles and the water runs around the pergola, under the boardwalk and into a subterranean reservoir before being recycled.

A large part of the garden has been covered with a membrane and bark chip to be used as a children's play area. There is a tower for the children to play in that has views over the fence into the countryside beyond. There is also a purpose built set of swings.
